Wikipedia is an open source encyclopedia, a Web site where anyone can write an article and post to any topic of their choice. The website has been a remarkable success, with thousands of amateur authorities weight on an infinite variety of subjects. From the summer of 2005, was home to nearly 850,000 on Wikipedia article in English only, with many other entries in dozens of other languages. They currently have more than 1.3 million articles in English, German 445,000, 342,000 French and to a lesser amounts in many other languages such as Dutch, Spanish and Japanese. Wikipedia has become an international phenomenon.

For pedestrians search Wikipedia can be a remarkable resource. Search for wheat production in Kansas, and you’ll seventeen articles, reference to a trade, some publications of Agriculture, the Kansas Board of Trade and links to other Web sites, or May June not to be related. If you do not find what you want, chances are that the search for Kansas get their annual production of wheat to a review of the state and its resources. For general information, Wikipedia has become a repository for a collection of unmatched resources. From quantum physics to caricature, find something about almost any topic.

The information, it appears that in fact, precise and professional for the most part presented. Wikipedia is an employee of the article Dame, for the elimination of serious examples of self-aggrandizing nonsense. Most articles are posted by users, reductions on the transport of flames. The authors are also able to amend section reserved and other knowledge, they may have.

Wikipedia has suffered some growing pains recently in situations where it became a source of events. For example, the entry into the collapse of Enron Kenneth Lay had several false entries into the circumstances of his death, as well as some entries soap box on the death of Houston rip-off artists, etc. There was of in other cases where changes have been made regarding the new, which are not properly. Given that Wikipedia is so widely used resource, the leaders of the site and its founder, Jimmy Wales, has been criticized.

It is legitimate to wonder if Wikipedia has a role in the activity of the news with open source format. Management response was that now there will be no more anonymous entries, but only registered users may be posting on the site. But when operators to fight successfully Wikipedia, it is a unique source of information – an encyclopedia of the population.

One of the many Web 2.0 slogans thrown around that day, Wiki. But that is precisely what is a wiki, and what is the purpose of serving? This is the official definition of Wiki-page:

The simplest online database that can work. Wiki is part of the server software, allows users the freedom to create and edit Web pages with content using any Web browser. Wiki supports hyperlinks and has simple text syntax for creating new pages and cross-references between internal pages on-the-fly. Wiki is unusual among group communication mechanisms in the development of contribution for the treatment and more on the content itself, like many simple concepts, “open method of treatment” has some subtle and profound impact on the Wiki service. The possibility of daily users create and edit any page on the website is exciting in that it encourages democratic Web content and promote the composition of the nontechnical user.

If you have the Web page of Wikipedia, you find more than 1 million articles (one page, encyclopedic information about them), also known as the wiki. Wikis cover a wide range of topics, people, events, animals-is your name, it is likely that a wiki on them somewhere.

In this way, you can project your wiki, business or promotion of the book? One way would be, in terms of marketing.

You can create a wiki on the Web site Wikipedia, the same function as the page is displayed on the site. You can access your wiki inform the public about their customers or project or product, including the background, people participate, and all other relevant information, we believe it would be relevant. Your wiki page can easily be updated at each new development, on the wiki article, and more.

Written as a college instructor, can I guarantee that certain issues that come several times during each class in writing. Questions are:

When should I use, “then” and when can I do with “as”?
How do I write a thesis statement?
Where can I find the page number?

Then there are other general questions such as:

They increasingly start on time to class and class at the end of time?
Is there someone who teaches the course?
You are married. Really? You? (Often followed by “The poor woman” whispered under his breath.)

But perhaps the most frequent question I get is whether Wikipedia, the ubiquitous online encyclopedia, can be used as a viable source for scientific work. In response to this question, I try to explain how the academic discourse – it is accuracy, credibility, objectivity, peer review, etc.. Most of the time, the students blankly rigid and tell me: “So … ah … is not it?”

As such, I am looking for a better answer, I hope that eventually the tranquility of this issue, since the threat in the halls of science and food on the knowledge my brain like a zombie students of one of the old Simpson’s Halloween special. Finally, I think I finally found the answer to, all men, the founder of Wikipedia.com, Jimmy Wales. I quote The Chronicle of Higher Education:

At a conference at the University of Pennsylvania, on Friday of “The hyperlink,” said Mr. Wales, he had about 10 emails per week, students, deplore, that Wikipedia was academic in hot water. “They say, ‘Help me. I have an F on my paper because I cited Wikipedia ‘ “and information as evil, he said. But he said he does not have the gravity of the situation, whereas it think to herself: “For God, you’re in College, no quote from the encyclopedia. ”

Mr Wales is on to say that Wikipedia is always good for an overview of a subject, but noted that scientific work should be real sources – you know, as nature, see the library.

I thought I was going to take a moment to answer some of the questions most frequently asked Oblivion, what is happening, most of my playing the game now.
Help! I choose the classroom?
From creating your character is a big decision that you are under an obligation to fairly early in the game before I play, I have heard horror stories on the network is not about creating your character correctly. Personally, I think it’s a quantity of Hogwash. I do not think you can chaos. I recommend reading the guide book, in which classes are explained. Do you think what you want to make Oblivion (magic, combat, etc.) and create a sign on.
So what do I do quests?
It is difficult not to be overwhelmed to get in a game of this size. It is too much to do. Fortunately for you, things are not necessarily done in a certain order, and is very open. I would suggest not a plan, Walking around the location and you take the game where he wants.
Why my abilities are so low?
Remember, you are your skills around him. If your lock talent is low because the block does not take much. If you heal itself all the time, your talent restoration will be high.

If social search sites like Wikipedia, StumbleUpon, Digg, and finally a viable alternative to search engines for traffic on your site? The fact is that nothing will ever replace or compete with the sale value behind search engines. If you spend time, resources, and you have the know-how, preserving the quality of Search Engine offers can be invaluable. Nothing better for a Web site operator as “free” of the display, the product of traffic on a current basis. If you’re lucky, for a Top it to your product or service, you may be more revenue or as a competitor with much larger advertising budget, but not on the same results. The online campaign is in constant evolution and growth of Web 2.0 as a solid platform for the sale of changes as we have seen on online marketing. The most important element of this second generation is one of Spain-based Web hosting and services such as social networking sites, wikis, blogs and folksonomies, to creativity , Cooperation and exchange between users. There is such a variety of sites in this area, that you may be at a loss about where to start. Well, the conclusion that this is not really important. Each of these social media sites has its own advantages and methods, Web site owners can use to promote their business. Some of the attributes that all these sites have in common, including the ability of a target group, reach customers in a geographic area for your staff, fast, and especially … to do all this be downloaded for free.
One of the sites for the growth in social media marketing is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is one of the Top Ten of the most popular sites on the Internet today, with regard to unique visitors. Wikipedia describes itself as “a multilingual system, based on the Web, free content encyclopedia project.” What makes an economy social media website Wikipedia is that it is written jointly by volunteers worldwide. But as the past methods of information is Wiki has two advantages and disadvantages.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia by the Community for the Community. All other changes are permitted by registered users and anonymous depending on the level of security, the origin of the author of the article. But because this article Wiki are easily destroyed by malicious users. For this purpose by several community members have aimed to stop these acts of vandalism in their own free time for the rest of the Community to receive information that you want.

There are millions of Wiki users around the world to contribute or to destroy the new form of distribution of information. For this reason, Wikipedia was open for discussion topic among the critical reasons that everything in Wikipedia can be considered a stable source of information, because someone, including anonymous users may be false , Hold, and other types of vandalism, Wikipedia has recognized and defined in its own site.

The other day a friend of mine was talking about Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org). He had eyes only something on the page and commented, “Why this site is also great? I think, seriously, you have seen that is really the best way to find what you’re looking for?”

On the first, I was not so sure.

I was obviously a little hesitant to jump on the car Wiki. After all what is wrong with your listing by default, good, the online encyclopedia? For years, I tried my information from the American Heritage Dictionary online free encyclopedia, dictionary of synonyms and abandon. What the user could be a site like Wikipedia can be influenced offer beside me correctly installed, the data irrelevant?

Comments like my friend, but I wonder if I am not on something useful. All around me, people were talking about this wiki-wiki, and that could be given to research enjoy editing content in the middle?

I am increasingly thinking, the more I realized that your features Run-of-the-mill-encyclopedia descriptions are perhaps a little too cliché “and outdated., What users search really these days is not exhaustive as to the letter of award of Platypus, but an interactive approach to supply and receive information. The user is drawn to the Wikipedia, because it allows users to showcase their individual skills and the general public of their vast knowledge of what you did.

Squidoo (http://www.squidoo.com) is another place where users are responsible for the content away. Built on the premise that “there should be an opportunity for us to enjoy what other know all,” Squidoo provides the user with a unique opportunity for information and reservation. The same is true, that the use Wikipedia, is the same for Squidoo. In essence, it seems to boil is that the users have something to say sites and to allow, they say. John Doe to give his two cents on the Ohio State Buckeyes for all to see, give others a chance to see a “real” person of view, with a boost from Mr. Doe for me. Better still, the days of pages or other “objectives” to the joy of his heart and you have a Web site reported (very good) of its users and a community of technology and common interests.

It is also http://www.KnowItNow.org. According to the site,

“KnowItKnow is a live online information service for free citizens of Ohio State Library of Ohio and your local public library. Librarians are professionals 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer your questions and for you Search help information. Once connected to your postcode Ohio, and a librarian in a chat session. The Librarian “sliding” high-quality online resources on your screen. You can see that Librarians and made navigating the Internet to find specific answers to your questions. At the end of each session KnowItNow, you receive a full transcript of the meeting by e-mail, including links to all shared resources online during this session. ”

Although KnowItNow is available only in Ohio, several other sites are of the same ilk into a very small number of countries. Although under-utilized, KnowItNow is an important resource for several reasons. For example, they may be bound home-users benefit from the library and the Internet promotes awareness and education for less experienced technology people. It also serves as evidence that libraries are keeping an overview of the evolution of technology and efforts for integration into their services.

Another site online is gaining momentum AccessMyLibrary (http://www.AccessMyLibrary.com). This site operates as an online magazine / journal of the library and how Wikipedia and Squidoo, AccessMyLibrary provides valuable information on the Internet media. With more than 16 million messages (up), there is literally something for everyone on this site. The content ranges from the obscure (collage technique) to the very popular (O, the Oprah Magazine) and is free.

While the number of articles is impressive, it is, in fact, the quality of content, is that the real show-stopper for many users (ie of Macworld, The New Yorker, Allure, Library, and the list could be there).

I was browsing in the wiki and my interest grew and passes through jumps, if I thread of fashion WikiWords – Culture Shock. He began by defining in one of the explanations and classic examples of culture shock.

I knew what it was, experience culture shock, first-hand. It was while I was at once a foreign exchange student in the U.S. of A. Some culture shock was painful and frightening experience, but others can learn from window, where I saw a new and exciting world. May this new world is not necessarily better or worse than mine, but at this point, it was certainly different. I think at that time and until now, that the difference in value added for both worlds.

On the wiki, Culture Shock of the Wikizens was amusing, not offensive. Was even more important to me is not so much entertainment value as Wikizens, perhaps unconsciously injected into their wikitext, but the additional knowledge, the experience she cites progress.

I felt that people of every culture mean well. Whether in a greeting, a kiss, a hug, a look, a word spoken, and an instinct for negotiation has always been a welcome gesture of goodwill, sincerity and friendliness. As in the meaning was lost in the translation and transmission has been the decline in factor, which would have been ideal of an equation.
